iSafe Backpacks And Bags: A Great Way To Protect The Ones You Love.

Once in awhile you run across a product that just makes perfect sense.  The iSafe series of bags and backpacks happens to be one of those types of products.

Why?  Check it out: It is a bag with a Built-In Alarm System!  Pretty innovative, huh?

My daughter, Sarah, is very excited to have this backpack for when she starts school next week.  I showed her the features and she commented to me that she really liked the amount of sections and pockets that she has to use for all her "stuff".

More importantly, she was very impressed with the whole alarm system.  Much to the chagrin of the neighbor to my right we tested the alarm function and it is most impressive!  Add to that sound the flashing light that is also built into this bag and as Sarah stated, " Now I don't have to worry about staying after school and traveling home on the public bus."

For me, I love that this backpack is stylish enough that Sarah is excited about using it and that the pin that keeps the alarm turned off is attached to the bag so it cannot be lost.

You can see in this picture that there is a cord that resides under a flap that no one will know is there except for you!  The cord is what keeps it attached to the bag itself.

I thought it would be interesting to share with you the FAQ's from the website:

At what age should a child use an iSafe Backpack?

We recommend the bag be used for children 8 years old and up. However, many customers have purchased the iSafe Backpack for children as young as 7. Children should be old enough to understand that the iSafe bag is an alarm system, not a toy.

How do I keep my child from playing with the alarm?

ISafe Backpacks must be used responsibly. It is important for parents of young children to emphasize that this product is not a toy and should be used as a tool to help them escape dangerous or harmful situations.

Will iSafe's alarm system hurt the user's ears?

No, we've provided WARNING tags that convey the proper use of this product. Therefore, when used correctly, the alarm system will not hurt the user's ears. The alarm system is concealed in the lower section of a pouch that emits two siren signals in opposite directions, away from the user's ears to attract attention all around.

Will the iSafe Backpack operate in the rain?

Yes, it is water resistant and shock resistant. However, never submerge your iSafe Backpack or Bag in water.

How do you activate and deactivate the alarm system?

You simply lift the small flap on the right shoulder strap and pull the activation cord. If you have an iSafe Bag, lift the small flap on the front surface of your bag and pull the activation cord. The pin will disengage from the switch instantaneously and activate the alarm in a split second. To deactivate, reinsert the pin.

How long can the alarm run for?

The iSafe alarm system can run up to 2 continuous hours, assuming the batteries are new.

What if an attacker tries to take the backpack or bag away from my child?

When worn correctly, it would be extremely difficult and time consuming for an attacker to remove the iSafe backpack or bag from a child when activated. The iSafe Backpack has an adjustable chest strap that secures the backpack around the child. The iSafe Bag should be worn with the shoulder strap crossing the user's chest. This prevents the backpack and bag from being easily taken away.

Can the iSafe backpack & Bag pass through airport security?

Yes; however, due to heightened security at airports, it might take a little longer to go through security screening. Please allow yourself additional time. Your iSafe Backpack /Bag is an electronic personal security system; therefore, we recommend removing the batteries prior to security screening at airports. Once TSA becomes familiar with iSafe's technology, security screening should be normal.

Who would be a typical user for an iSafe Backpack or Bag?

Children, teenagers, college students, professionals and seniors can all benefit from the personal protection of an iSafe bag. iSafe's versatility make it useful in any type of situation, from work, school, the mall, to hiking, biking or camping. Even if one was stranded in an elevator or trapped in harmful situation, iSafe will be there. ISafe Backpacks & Bags can also provide indoor security for dorm rooms, apartments, trailers etc.

What do I do when my iSafe Backpack or Bag starts looking old and unsightly?

DO NOT submerge your iSafe Backpack or Bag in a tub of water or attempt to wash it. However, you can wipe it down with a damp cloth. If your backpack or bag is torn or too unsightly or unsuitable, you can take advantage of our Replacement Policy. After your first purchase of an ISafe Backpack or Bag, you can go to our website or call our customer service (add number here) to register your information with our Replacement Program. You'll have a policy on file, which allows you to replace your old iSafe Backpack or Bag for a new one. This can be done at any time, and SAVES you up to 50% off the original price. You can change colors and styles every year. And Best of all, there is no limit to the number of times you can get a new backpack or bag.

How much extra weight does the alarm system add to the backpack or bag?

The alarm system plus the batteries will add an extra one-half (1/2 lb) pound to the original weight of the backpack or bag. This powerful system is light weight.

They have much more then just backpacks!

The same safety features are also available on the Laptop Bag.

And the Laptop Messenger Bag!

The price for all the styles is about what a good backpack or bag would cost you from most brand-name manufacturers but they cannot give the peace of mind that the iSafe bags are able to provide.

It's a dangerous world; thanks to iSafe I feel it is a little bit less dangerous!

Let me know what you think!

Disclaimer:  Although I was not paid to write this post, I did receive a sample of the product in order to review it.  It did not influence my opinion nor did it obligate me to write anything about it.

My Summer's Sweetest Moment: Reflections In Association With Strawberry Milano Pepperidge Farm Cookies

Summer is almost over...sigh.  In between the heat and the rain and seeing my daughter leave home for an extended period of time to work at a sleep away camp there has not really been to many really sweet summer moments for me to savor this summer season.

Which is why I am so delighted to be working with Pepperidge Farms. They recently introduced Strawberry Milano Cookies a fab little cookie that deliciously pairs luscious strawberry filling with rich, dark chocolate for an irresistible, sweet indulgence that brings a moment of satisfaction to any day.  Yummy!

They have asked bloggers to take a moment and celebrate the release of this sweet cookie by reflecting on the sweetest moment of my summer.

I actually already wrote a post about it, but it bears repeating; the sweetest moment for me was visiting day at Sarah's camp when she ran to me with outstretched arms!  No other moment this summer rings sweeter then that split second when she opened her heart to me and allowed me in.

Things have been difficult this last month with Sarah and holding on to that sweet moment has helped me get through some very difficult times.

Pepperidge Farms in encouraging you to remember your own sweet moments by offering a coupon towards the purchase of these sweet cookies.  Just go here to print a coupon for a one dollar savings.

You can also visit the Milano Cookie Facebook Page and share your own sweet summer memories as well.

What was your sweetest summer moment?

10 Tips For Planning The Perfect Baby Shower: Inspired By Tiny Prints!

Thanks again to TwitterMoms, I have been challenged to provide 10 tips for planning a unique baby shower.  I really didn't know where to begin so I cruised the pages of TinyPrints.com for inspiration.

Bingo!  I saw this Tiny Prints baby shower invitation and it struck a chord with me.  How perfect to plan a baby shower that includes the father.  Really...wasn't he involved in the first place?

So, these then are my tips:

1 - Yes, include the father and his friends and relatives.  Why not?  It might be nice to set the precedent that this is a team effort from the very beginning.

2 - Encourage gifts that both Mom and Dad can use..like gender neutral diaper bags.  Dad might love the fact that his appearance when going out with baby is being considered.  And it might give him some confidence in taking baby out by himself.

3 - Serve food for both genders...why not have salad and finger sandwiches as well as buffalo wings and nachos?  The cake can also appeal to both parties as well.  Who needs all that pink anyway?

4 - Activities can be structured so you get some " Men vs. Woman" teams going...think of games that might be fun if the men were asked to participate.  Perhaps some dolls and diapers to see who the fastest really are!

5 - Decorations could include both a female and male perspective....think pink babies and sports team insignia.  Baby gifts can also address both Mom and Dad as well.

6 - It might be fun to have relatives of both Mom and Dad bring baby pictures and hang them up around the room.

7 - Party favors can incorporate both points of view.  At the bottom of the list I give a good example of what I am referring to.

8 - Color scheme can be gender neutral as well.  Think blues and reds.

9 - I love the fact that the invitation that inspired this showcases the couple.  Thank you cards should include both parents as well.

10-For my final suggestion, it might be nice to provide a gift that can be used by the couple for a little getaway after the baby is born.  Maybe a gift card for a romantic dinner with babysitting thrown for good measure.

I love that TinyPrints.com has baby shower favors like this:

It makes perfect sense for the type of shower I am posting about, doesn't it?

One of the thoughts that inspired me was that times have changed as far as how men are involved much more these days in their children's lives but we as a culture have not kept up with those changes.  I love that TinyPrints.com has recognized the need for variety when it comes to invitations and paper goods and that variety allows you to really have fun with the whole party-planning process.

They make it so easy with their " one-stop" shopping that what used to be a dreaded chore is now a welcome challenge.

While you are there, take a look at some of the other products they sell like stationary, boxed cards, and gift sets.   Most everything can be personalized so you are really only limited by your own imagination.

About Tiny Prints:

Keeping Your Child's Smile Healthy: Five Things I Do That You Can Do Too!

It is never too early to start taking an active role in your child's dental health.  And no one seems to appreciate this fact more these days then the folks at Trident!  They have partnered with Smiles Across America to provide dental care and education to over 250,000 underprivileged children annually!  From September 13 to September 19th they are donating five cents for every pack of Trident Gum purchased during this time period, with a cap of 600,000 possible to be donated!  That's a whole lot of teeth that can be saved, isn't it?

How important is good oral health to the life of a child?  Well did you know that tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease in America, affecting 50 percent of first graders and 80 percent of 17-year-olds? Or that untreated tooth decay and disease can affect a child’s health, well-being, growth, and achievement?  Children with serious oral health problems can have difficulty eating and sleeping, or concentrating in school.  Over 51 million school hours are lost each year due to dental-related problems.

That's why this school based program is so vital to the communities that they serve.

There are many things you can do in your own home to encourage good oral health in your own children.  Take a look at some of the ideas that are practiced in my home with Sarah:

1 - Having a fun and cool toothbrush is always an effective tool to get kids to brush more.  These days they have toothbrushes that spin, light up, play music, and change colors.   Let your child take an active role in choosing the toothbrush that will make brushing fun!

2 - I introduced Sarah to dental floss at an early age to keep not only her teeth but her gums healthy as well.  There are tons of options and flavors to make this a more pleasant experience.

3 - Encouraging the use of sugar-free gums like Trident is always an easy way to keep teeth healthy.           Check out this link to learn why Trident is an effective tool against tooth decay!

4 - Sarah always likes the fact that  that she has her own toothpaste and gets to pick out the flavors that she enjoys.  I have found that the more individualized the experience, the more your children take ownership of their own dental health.

5 - If regular brushing becomes lax, we like to use charts that we paste in the bathroom next to the mirror to remind us that we need to brush every day.

Check out this You Tube Video that highlights how kids use Trident Gum:

Trident also has a great Facebook page where you can get lots of information and coupons.

You can also find out all about the Chew For Smiles program!

There is even a sweepstakes where you can win lots of cool prizes!

Would love to hear your thoughts!  Please share!

It's Always a Honeymoon With The Man That I Love: The Honeymoon For Lovers Kit From Eden Fantasys!

This past weekend I had the chance to spend some quality alone time with the man that I love.  We brought along The Honeymoon for Lovers Kit to play with and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of the items that are included.

Here's what Eden Fantasys has to say about this kit:

Designed for lovers with a passion for seduction and who want to make their special night even more so,

The honeymoon for lover’s kit has everything you need to take the two of you into the early hours of the morning, and then some.

That’s because, with ingredients that range from personal massagers to sensual lotions, this kit is guaranteed to keep you busy, at least for longer than the usual five minutes we’re used to.

So let’s go through the list:

1. Strawberry flavored massage oil-just what it sounds like, and it’s edible. So give your partner some stress relief; we’re sure she’ll return the favor.

My Comment: I liked the way that this smelled and tasted!

2. Vibrator-five inches of reverberating happiness-a great way to give yourself a head start during foreplay. Its gentle vibrations are controlled via the multi-speed twist knob base.

My Comment: A pretty standard vibe that does the trick!

3. Almond body massage oil-another fragrant excuse to explore your partner’s entire body from head to toe, and provide a little relaxation in the process.

My Comment: This is my favorite item in the kit!  I love the smell and just a drop goes a really long way!

4. Raspberry sunshine love suds-get clean before you get dirty

My Comment: Fun in the tub!

5. Feather-brings to life any part of the body it’s brushed against

My Comment: My least favorite item from the kit.  Too small and flimsy to really be useful.

6. Wooden power massager-no vibrations, just a good ol’ fashioned firm and hard edge-ribbed massager.

My Comment: Nice and simple!

7. Power passion candle-something about its scent gets you in the mood all on its own.

My Comment: It's a nice candle that completes the overall mood of the whole kit.

So once you set the perfect mood, where the rest of the night takes you is entirely up to your imagination.

Product code: TO34004.

Flavor:Almonds / Strawberry / Raspberry

Weight:2 lb

Powered By:Aa-1 .Material:Plastic .Length:5" .

Special Features:Edible

Scented

Safety features:Phthalates free / Hypo-allergenic / Food-grade material / Latex free

The one negative for me was the fluff that comes inside the canister ( which itself is actually quite nice)...it looked like shredded cellophane and was just something that had to be thrown away.

Overall a nice collection of items and great for " couple-time".

Disclaimer: I received a sample of this item in order to write this review but it in no way obligated me or influenced what I wrote in this post.

Five Family Time Ideas: TwitterMoms Challenges Me Once Again!

I love working with TwitterMoms because they really make me step back and take a look at my family and the things that we do.  Today's challenge is all about listing five family time ideas.  Since I have a teenager, my list will be geared towards those with older children.

1 - Nothing beats good old fashioned games!  I keep different types of games on hand and find it is great when you hear the " I'm bored" mantra from your children.

2 - Baking together is also a great way to have fun!  Even better you get to eat when it is done!

3 - Arts and crafts is something that we really enjoy on my family.  I have been known to break out the markers and paper and challenge my daughter to create a drawing based on a specific subject or poem.

4 - My daughter loves looking at fashion catalogs.  I created several binders for her so that she can clip out the outfits she likes best and she loves it when I help her go through them.

5 - I love introducing my daughter to classic movies that I have in my DVD collection.  She has enjoyed films like " Fiddler on the Roof" and  " West Side Story" with me and her comments often let me see these films with a whole new set of eyes!

What are some family friendly activities you guys like to do?  Please share!

More suffering for small businesses with the Safe Cosmetics Act of 2010

By Hilary K Riedemann

Please note:  This is a guest post to inform you of a very important issue

So, it’s not every day that I hear Congress and makeup in the same phrase. And, by phrase, I mean legislation. Other than thinking some Congresswomen need more or need less of the stuff I don’t really think of it – at all. But something came across my desk the other day that I find rather absurd. The “Safe Cosmetics Act of 2010″—sponsored by Reps. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Ed Markey (D-MA) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) –the bill claims to regulate personal care products – makeup, soap, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, baby shampoo – really anything you use to keep yourself looking, feeling and smelling fresh.

My first thought was – huh? Why is Congress worried about my makeup? My second thought was stay away from my stuff as well as didn’t the industry ask for regulations way back when and the government said no? Hey – I know these things – I LOVE makeup, and in full disclosure, have worked in the industry. And, the simple answer is yes; the personal care industry asked for FDA regulations in the 70’s but was turned down because the government didn’t have the time or money to waste testing lipstick. So the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel was setup by the industry (in conjunction with the FDA and Consumer Federation of America) to assess the safety of cosmetic ingredients and then publish its findings in peer-reviewed journals and discuss its findings publicly. Not bad for an industry the government told to take a hike.

One thing to note, though, while CIR itself doesn’t test cosmetics/products, all companies – large and small – are required (by law) to test their products and have studies that show they are safe before said product is put in front of the consumer. Now, if the law already requires testing and positive proof that something is safe, why should the government waste it’s time requiring re-testing of everything? Don’t they have better things to do? Like fix the economy? Or education? Just a thought.

Another thing to note – this applies to new products as well as products we’ve used for years. I mean, do you think I would REALLY use baby shampoo that I thought was unsafe? The baby shampoo I have for Baby R has been around since my Grandma was a baby and she’s fine, my Dad’s fine and I’m fine. And I have no reservation whatsoever that the products I use, and my family use, are safe. I think we all deserve a little more credit when it comes to protecting our family and ourselves. The products targeted in the legislation have long been trusted by their customers, and I’m no different. I don’t appreciate Congress telling me what I should and should not be trusting. That’s my decision, not theirs.

After reading through some of the legislation, one thing that stuck out even more than the makeup testing bit was how much small businesses would suffer. The fact of the matter is this bill would place an undue burden on a small business by mandating that they provide a bunch of information that doesn’t do anything. If one tiny little thing changed for a company – say, the lavender shipper changes to another lavender shipper, that business would have to notify the government and have everything re-verified before that lavender product could go back on the market. What small business (or big business for that matter) has the ability to do that? With the time it takes the government to do things these days (healthcare anyone?), who knows when the small business would hear back from them.

So what does that mean for us as customers? Your favorite soap maker at the local market? Gone. The lady with the yummy smelling hand lotion at that cute shop you love? Gone. All because Congress decided to get involved with our daily “get ready for the day, shampoo the hair, put some makeup on (if the kids aren’t pulling you in another direction), and rub some lotion on your hands” routine that, up until the other day, I took for granted. I have a specific routine with certain products that I rarely deviate from, and if Congress gets involved and I can’t do that because my product isn’t available, or has become too expensive or I can’t even find a new lipstick to wear this Christmas season I will be beyond pissed. Not to mention extremely disappointed that my Aunt won’t be able to find her favorite soap from Casco Soap Company and I won’t see my favorite organic table at Eastern Market.

Back-To-School With NortonLive: Time For My Review!

You might remember my teaser post about the NortonLive bundle of services.  I finally got the chance to try the PC Power Boost and boy was I impressed!

It was really easy to use....I downloaded a small program from the Norton website to allow the specialist remote access to my computer.  I then called a special number and I was connected to Jon - my new favorite guy at Norton. I'll reference my case number so he, and his managers, know exactly who I am talking about: Case #500977286.

After verifying my purchase Jon swiftly took over and started doing his thing...that is, going through the files in my computer that were slowing it down,  He was pleasant and patient and polite through the whole process..and allayed any fears I had about what he was doing by explaining EVERYTHING!

At the end of the process Jon made some sound suggestions about keeping my PC running as quickly as possible and the suggestions were logical and made sense.

You don't have to subscribe to Norton to use the service and you can call back any time within 30 days after receiving the boost if you encounter any problems.

If you have a child going away to college this is a great service to gift to them if they encounter any problems. It can be accomplished 24/7 and you never have to leave your house.  It also is great for adults as well. I know after awhile my computer becomes slower and it is very frustrating.  Knowing that I can call and speed it up without having to drop it off and be without it is a very valuable service.

The discount is only good until September 2, 2010 so if your computer is running slow and seems sluggish do yourself a favor and give them a call!

And a big shout out to Jon!  You are what truly made this a positive review!

Today's post is going to be a little different. Recently, the good folks at BlogEnergizer.com have offered to write any blog an exclusive interview so I said yes and here's the interview with team leader, Lynette
Chandler. I hope you find lots of good information in it as I have and don't forget to vote for me because the interview with the most votes will win some cool prizes.

http://blogenergizer.com/teip-vote/

The purpose of this exercise was for yours truly to come up with five good questions related to blogging that would of interest to my readers.  It was harder then you think!  These are the questions I thought of as well as Lynette's answers.

At what point should a blog switch from Blogger or Wordpress to their own domain?

From the very beginning. But let me back track a little. If it is for a personal blog where you have no plans of ever monetizing or making a business from, it isn't has important. On the same token, I've also seen some people's personal blogs take off and it becomes a business even though they never intended it to be.

I'm a strong supporter of having your own domain regardless of your plans for it. Mostly for control. A good example is a personal journal my husband and I started in 1999. At that time, we didn't have blogging tools, blogs haven't even been 'invented' yet. We used a free site, on their sub-domain.

Over the years, the site enjoyed top spot on search engines on and off. We don't get major traffic but it is enough to earn us a little money. Although we have purchased a domain name for it, it was too late. We can redirect the traffic but if we had it on our own domain all that time, the site would be much more valuable since the domain would be matured and we wouldn't have to do all this extra work. Less work later is always a good thing.

How do I write a product review for a product that I did not like?

With any review whether you like a product or not you should be up front and honest about it. If you don't like it, say why. Is there anything about it that you do like and why?

I like to tell people both sides if there is still value in the product. Because what doesn't work for me could be exactly what someone else is looking for. But if the product or service is really useless or an outright scam that you can substantiate, you owe it to your readers to say so.

I'd stay away from strong words or writing when I'm angry and plain ranting without reasonable attempt to resolve the situation.

There seem to so many different types of widgets that collect statistics; which ones are the most important ones for marketing purposes?

It depends what kind of statistics you are collecting. Is it to find out who is clicking on what or what kind of traffic and where they come from? If it is traffic stats. I only use two.

Google Analytics and AWstats that comes with most web hosting accounts. I like to check Google Analytics for more in depth information like tracking how many out of the visitors are converted into list subscribers, where people go after reading a post. Where do the leave from and so on.

What the heck is a PR rating anyway? What is the real difference between a PR 2, A PR3, and a PR4? How can I improve my PR ranking? What types of posts are detrimental to that ranking? What types of posts are helpful?

We're getting into the realm of SEO. Since this is outside the scope of our expertise, I'm going to leave it to the people who know more. The following resource is a good place to start.

Google PageRank guide for searchers and webmasters

How important is utilizing things like Diggs and Stumbleon really to the overall marketing of my blog? What are the essential networks to belong to? Which ones are not worth the trouble?

Personally, I don't make this top priority as average ROI pretty low in my experience. My top priority is to write posts that people want to read and are relevant to my audience. When you do that and pepper your posts with call to actions, inviting people to share/Digg or Stumble if they liked it, you'll find these develop naturally.

Doesn't mean you can't do it. A post that manages to do well on Digg or StumbleUpon can bring a ton of traffic in a short time. But I also don't think it is realistic to expect every single post that you make to hit those charts in a big way.

Once in a while you could make an effort into crafting a message that people will naturally want to share like lists, crazy funny photo or a controversial opinion then go all out to promote it and put a prominent invitation to bookmark the post, it could pay off. But things like that take more time and effort that I'm prepared to give so not a regular to do in my books.

Alight: Plus-Size Clothing That You feel Good About Wearing! A Review and Giveaway!

Those of us of more "ample" proportions bemoan the fact that many of the clothes offered on mainstream websites would have looked better on my grandmother then on those of us who are of the non-geriatric age range.

So happy to have found Alight; the clothes are modern and fresh, the cuts and sizing realistic and true to life, and the prices are on par with "non-plus" size clothing.( BTW...can someone please tell me WHY plus-sized clothing is more expensive then its regular sized counterparts?  Often even for the exact same item?  I mean they don't charge more for a size 0 vs. a size 9, why is it then perfectly alright to charge more for a size 16 then it is for a size 4?)  But I digress!

Many of the items are really rather pretty...and many also come in my favorite color "purple",,,,check some cool items:

Love the details on this one...the softness of the drape and the flower for embellishment...

How pretty is this dress?

Eco-Friendly Baby Products - EcoMom: The Place To Find What You Need For Your Family And Home: My Review and Giveaway!

Of late I have really tried to pay attention to the chemicals I introduce into my home via the products I choose to use.  I have chronic allergies and asthma and it just keeps getting worse.  I am aware that the chemicals in most supermarket cleaning items just serve to aggravate an already aggravating condition.

I have also come to a place of understanding that I don't have to have a toddler in the house to be concerned about how chemicals affect my teen-aged daughter as well.  It is just as important to monitor the chemicals she is exposed to at this age as it is to any other stage of development.

That's one of the things I liked about EcoMom right off the bat; although many of the products are geared to wards families with young children they are just as appropriate for children who are older as well as adults.

EcoMom sent me the BabyGanics Dish Dazzle soap to try.  I found this to be a good product that does what it says it will do, namely clean your dishes with no chemical or gel residue.

Check out the ingredients for this product:

Ingredients: Various Naturally Derived Plant Based Cleaning Agents (Coconut, Palm Kernel, Corn and Sugar based surfactants), Water, Preservative (less than 0.1%), Naturally Derived Citrus Fragrance.

Nothing scary there, huh?

If you look around you will find lots of products for baby, child, adult, and home; the prices are reasonable and I love the description of what this company is all about:

Founded to address the connection between the health of our environment and the health of our children, EcoMom is committed to making eco-conscious living easy, affordable, and rewarding. By helping women begin to take better care of themselves and their families – with education, support, tools and products - we empower them to take the all important first steps toward a healthier, more balanced, and sustainable lifestyle.

You're Feet Will Say Thanks! Native Remedies Faithful Feet Massage Oil - A Review!

The dog days of summer.  Hot feet pounding an even hotter pavement.  If your feet are anything like mine, this summer especially has been brutal.

When I was approached to review the Native Remedies line of products I was really looking forward to trying out the Faithful Feet Massage Oil

This is what Native Remedies has to say about this product:

Faithful Feet Massage Oil Benefits:

Soothes tired and aching feet, especially during pregnancy
Supports circulation to the feet and ankles
Relaxes, energizes and revitalizes your body and soul
Pampers and uplifts you through an aromatic experience
Is safe during pregnancy

May Chang essential oil is derived from the small, pepper-shaped fruits of the plant and is an excellent skin tonic, with wonderful calming properties. This oil has a fresh, clean scent and helps to support healthy energy levels and stable sleep patterns.

Grapefruit essential oil has a refreshing citrus scent and is a wonderful tonic for the lymphatic system, supporting balanced fluid levels and routine systemic toxin removal. Grapefruit oil also soothes the central nervous system, helping to impart feelings of well-being and peace.

Ginger essential oil is well known for its balancing effect on body fluid levels. It also helps to alleviate those common pregnancy aches and cramps. Ginger supports healthy circulation and energy levels. This oil also has an excellent tonic effect on the immune system and has a very refreshing aroma as well as having a long history of discouraging common swelling. (Grzanna, R., Lindmark, L., and Frondoza, C. G. “Ginger - an herbal medicinal product with broad anti-inflammatory actions.” J Med Food 2005;8 (2):125-132.).

Regular readers of my blog know how much my boyfriend likes massages.  He couldn't wait for his foot massage and the reaction was over-whelmingly positive!  The oil spread nicely on his feet and had a very pleasant smell that was not too strong.  This makes sense as this product is meant to be safe for women who are pregnant.

Looking at the Native Remedies website there are  products for Child Health, Weight ManagementWomen's HealthMen's Health, and Senior Health

It's Called The Robby Wash and It Will Change The Way You Do Laundry!  A Review!

Just when you think they had come up with every way to do your laundry, out of the blue - Robby Wash Blue that is - pops this product!

At first I was skeptical...I had tried something similiar a few years ago and it just didn't work.  But I cleared my mind of any pre-conceived ideas, read the directions, and threw it into my washing machine and waited for it to do it's thing.

And yes, I am happy to report..it did it's thing and it did it well!  My clothes were clean, there was no residue and I continue to use it two weeks later!  I may never have to buy detergent again!

Oh yeah..you have no idea what I am talking about, huh?

This is what Oransi, the website which brings you this really cool product, has to say about what the Robby Wash Ball is:

"Easy to use:

1. Toss it in your washing machine and leave it there (works with both front and top load washing machines)

2. None of the hassles that you have with traditional laundry detergent such as lugging it through the store, cleaning up spilled detergent, etc.

3. Easy on your wallet

Effective – The Robby Wash ball uses a unique and patented worldwide technology to clean your laundry even better than the powder laundry detergents it was independently tested against. Its activated macromolecules are gradually released through the wash, dissolving dried-in stains by generating ions which activate the water molecules. This increase in the pH enables the activated molecules to penetrate deep into the fabrics and attach themselves to the stains. As the motion of the drum agitates the clothes, the stains come away easily from the fabric and dissolve in the water. Of all the systems on the market, Robby Wash's effectiveness is tested, proven and guaranteed.

Green -

•Ultra high efficiency laundry solution - no need to add any laundry detergent
•Hypoallergenic and great choice as a baby laundry detergent cleaner
•Does not pollute the environment like standard laundry detergents
•Easy to refill so you do not need to throw away the ball
•RoHS lead free directive certified
•No phosphates or chlorine
•Safe to use with bleach however we recommend using our included stain stick for stain removal or a salt cleaner as this will not damage the fibers in your laundry like bleach can."

You toss the ball, which is filled with detergent pellets, into your washing machine and then...well that's all you have to really do!  When the wash is done, remove the ball to let it dry and then toss it right back in when you do your next laundry load.

If you still aren't convinced, check out 11 reasons to use the Robby Wash!

1. Save money – it’s hard enough to carry all those boxes of laundry detergents much less pay a premium for them – that’s why we make it affordable for you. Standard laundry detergents can cost you up to $1 per load whereas the highly efficient robby laundry ball is less than $0.25 per load.

2. Simple. Just throw it in the washing machine.

Anyone can now do the laundry! Works in both front and top load washing machines.

3. Targeted cleaning.

Use the fuschia ball for low temperature loads (32-90ºF) and the blue washing ball for high temperatures (32-180ºF). Maintains softness in your laundry while removing odors and stains.

4. Hypoallergenic. Since you are not using cups of laundry detergent your laundry is cleaned in a manner that is much easier on your skin while at the same time giving you the performance you expect in a highly efficient laundry cleaner.

5. Baby safe laundry solution. Formulated to being gentle on your child's clothes but strong enough to remove the stains.

6. Free stain stick included with each washing ball purchase.

7. Fresh scent. Your clothes will have a very light fresh scent for a feeling of freshness.

8. High efficiency laundry. Each Robby Wash ball pack will clean on average for 12 months. This includes three refill packets of macromolecules. If you have an over-sized washing machine, we recommend using two washing balls.

9. Helps the environment. Just look at what you are not dumping down the pipes (10 ounce ball = 75+ pounds of laundry detergent)!

10. Economical refills. Simply open the tab on the ball to refill with the macro molecule pellets when they are less than 75% full. This keeps you from having to throw away the ball. Each ball should last for 2-3 years.

11. Safety. Designed in France to meet the strict compliance requirements of the Europe and contains no phosphates or chlorine. The Robby Wash ball has received safety certifications from REACH, RoHS. Each ball is made of durable ABS materials.
