Supercuts: Ever Wondered What It Would Be Like To Own The #1 Hair Care Franchise In The United States?

One of the coolest things about being part of the blogging world is that I often get the inside scoop on some really interesting opportunities like the Supercuts franchise information I am sharing with you today.

I am sure you have seen Supercuts stores; they are anywhere and everywhere!  The have that distinctive red sign that is easy to spot, even from a distance.  Supercuts is part of the Regis Franchise family of brands. With over 2,100 locations across North America, Supercuts provides hair-care services to men, women and children at convenient locations with reasonable prices and no appointments necessary. Supercuts offers a broad selection of professional hair care products including Paul Mitchell, American Crew, Nioxin, Tigi, Redken, Biolage and more.

I bet you never knew that Supercuts has been ranked the number one hair-care franchise in the U.S. and the fifth best franchise opportunity overall in Entrepreneur magazine's annual "Franchise 500" issue.  I bet you also never knew that  no prior business or hair-care experience is necessary. Supercuts will train you to run the business, and how to hire the right professional stylists to perform the actual services.  Got your attention, didn't I?

I thought that the logic behind choosing a SuperCuts franchise was very intriguing:

Why Choose the Hair Care Industry?

The success of any franchise is dependent on the nature of the business. Unlike food service franchises with perishable inventory, round the clock hours, and unskilled labor, hair care is an industry worthy of consideration because it:

-Is fundamental service in any community and any economic climate.
-Most people choose not to ‘do it themselves’
-Resists technological obsolescence
-Is staffed by professionals – employees are educated, certified and trained
-Has low, non-perishable inventory requirements.
-Cannot be outsourced
-Is about making people look and feel good about themselves.

Hair care is a high-demand, high-repeat cash business that serves a fragmented and local market. Supercuts can take the guess work out of setting up a successful operation of your own; one where successful national advertising creates brand recognition and value for each salon.

Why Choose Supercuts?

Supercuts is owned by Regis Corporation. Regis is the global leader in hair care service. They are a Fortune 1000 company with almost 13,000 salon locations among 60 brands in hair care services, products, and education. Supercuts is Regis Corporation’s flagship franchise brand. Since 1922, Regis’s success has stemmed from their continued ability to innovate according to demand. Even in 2009’s economic uncertainty, Supercuts provided franchisees with the knowledge and confidence to open eighty new Supercuts across the country, bringing the franchise to over 2,100 locations throughout North America.

To foster a symbiotic relationship with franchisees, Regis uses total transparency to provide learning opportunities and offer access to the latest information and best practices on financial performance, incremental revenue opportunities, operational improvements, marketing, hiring, retention and business growth strategies. Regis is equally as invested in the success of franchised salons as their franchisees are.

So now you are thinking to yourself, " I wish I could find a way to get some more information about being a SuperCuts owner!".

Stop thinking!  I know exactly what to do next and where to go to get your questions answered!  Lucky you for reading this blog, huh?

Protect Your Kids From MRSA: Time To Teach Your Children!

"With fall sports in full swing, equipment cleanliness and item-sharing on and off the field may get overlooked between carpools, homework and bedtime. But, skin infections like MRSA, a potentially life threatening antibiotic resistant Staph infection, are the cause of 56 percent of all infectious disease outbreaks in competitive sports in the U.S.

It’s important that as parents and coaches we do our part to help prevent the spread of MRSA. You can begin by getting involved in the Equip them Well program through three simple steps – collect, disinfect, donate."

MRSA stands for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.  And it can kill.  Really.

Carribean Mist Products: Time To Bring Home The Tropics!

I want to give you, my dear readers, the heads up on a very interesting company I recently came across in my travels.

Check out a little bit of the company history and philosophy from their website:

"Carribean Mist is a high-quality product that is natural, safe and effective. It is more affordable than other name-brand, non-toxic products allowing all households to clean with products that are safer for their family and the environment.

In 1988, B&B Products, the inventor of Carribean Mist, began as a small, minority-owned manufacturing company specializing in industrial and household cleaning products. After 17 years, B&B Products continues to be the only African-American owned company to manufacture cleaning products for store shelves. Eventually, B&B Products expanded its line of products with the invention of a 3 in 1 air and fabric freshener and odor eliminator.

In addition, because there is so much pollution that destroys our world everyday, we felt the need to help protect the earth for our children and families like us by manufacturing all natural, non-toxic detergents and household cleaning products. When creating these environmentally safe products, we ensured that we created highly concentrated, safe products that were affordable to every family who is interested in a healthy living environment and a cleaner earth."

Pretty cool, huh?

They have everything from products for the bathroom, kitchen, and laundry to all purpose cleaning products and products to refresh your fabrics.

The website has a great feature where you can enter your address and find stores in your area that carry Carribean Mist products.  Go here to try it out for yourself!  You can also access some really great articles about other eco-friendly companies and initiatives there as well.

Tell me - Have you ever used any Carribean Mist products?  What did you think?

Thirsty For Something Different?: Ayala Herbal Water - A Review And Giveaway!

Are you getting tired of bottled water?  Are you looking for something really different that will satisfy your thirst, yet is still healthy for you?  If so, then it is time to introduce you to Ayala Herbal Waters!

Here is how Ayala describes this set of products:

"At Herbal Water, we make our flavored water by infusing organic herbal extracts in pure artesian water. We use no artificial sweeteners, no preservatives, and no additives of any kind. Get your dose of natural bliss in six exotic flavor combinations.

Culinary herbs are the natural way to add real flavor and enhance any food or drink. For centuries, they have been prized for their calming, stimulating, and aphrodisiac qualities. Ayala's flavored water harnesses the power of these natural wonders in a delightfully refreshing, mellow, yet complex, aromatic drink. Enjoy a straight-from-the-garden taste of organic herbal extracts and the crisp freshness of artesian water in every sip."

I thought that the story of how the product was developed was interesting too:

"The Herbal Water story begins in the spring of 2005, in the garden of Dr. Ayala. A passionate cook, trained pediatrician, talented artist and lifelong vegetarian, Dr. Ayala has spent years exploring healthy, tasty ways to feed children and adults.

Seeking an alternative to sugar-laden and artificially flavored beverages, Dr. Ayala created her own blends of herb-infused waters that magically satisfy thirst and restore the spirit. Among her family and friends, Dr. Ayala's herbal waters became famous for their uniquely refreshing tastes and aromas.

Full of flavor yet free of calories, artificial sweeteners, and artificial chemicals, these naturally fragrant beverages evoke happy feelings, like a breeze in a sunny garden.

The growing demand for these tasty herbal waters led Dr. Ayala to bring Ayala's Herbal Water to everyone.

Ayala's Herbal Water is the first nationally available organically certified enhanced flavored water made with all organic ingredients. Each Herbal Water blend is all-natural and sets a new standard for healthy beverages: zero calories, zero artificial sweeteners, flavors, and colors, and zero chemical preservatives. And our water comes from an Artesian Well in Virginia."

I was given a six bottle set for review.  It consisted of:

•Lemongrass Mint Vanilla
•Lavender Mint
•Lemon Verbena Geranium
•Cloves Cinnamon Cardamom
•Cinnamon Orange Peel
•Ginger Lemon Peel

They were all very interesting and refreshing.  I really liked the Cinnamon Orange Peel and the Lavender Mint flavors.  They are a great way to really satisfy your thirst and the website gives you suggestions about which water to pair with which type of food.

I found Dr. Ayala's blog to be full of some great information and advice.  And I thought this detailed explanation of the herbs and ingredients in this water was also very interesting.

Xtreme Green Waterless Wash: Keeping Your Car Looking Beautiful: A Review and Giveaway!

With the leaves falling all around us, this is the season of seeing our cars looking like one big mess!  So cool that I had the opportunity to try the Xtreme Green Waterless Wash!

This is how they describe their product:

Xtreme Green Waterless Wash was originally developed as a way for people to clean and shine their cars while saving one of the planet’s most precious resources – water. The goal was, that it had to be safe for the environment, safe for vehicles, and safe for people.

The need for this product has increased dramatically because more and more communities restrict car washing in driveways due to water runoff and water shortages. It’s a convenient way to touch-up their vehicle without the use of a bucket, hose, sponge, soap or towels.

The product performs two basic functions:

1) It cleans and it shines

2) Does not scratch the finish.

CLEANS

This citrus-powered formula will lift away road grime, bugs, bird droppings, road tar and dirt on cars, motorcycles, trucks and water craft.

SHINES AND PROTECTS

Waterless Wash has special lubricating and shine agents that leave behind a just- waxed looking, shiny coating that will bead water for up to 4 weeks.

For this review I went to the expert in my little family - my boyfriend!  There is no one I know of who is more fanatical about keeping their car clean, so I thought he was a natural for this review.

Here's what he had to say:

I have to classify myself as a car buff, no pun intended! I also go to car shows regularly throughout the year not only with my yellow /black 1970 Dodge Challenger but also with my 2006 Black Chrysler SRT8. Often times keeping a black car looking good requires a lot of effort and energy!

Living in a high traffic, land of hard water, in northern New Jersey, this is just what the doctor ordered. Nothing like washing the car and getting to the show and having white streaks trailing off the mirrors and rooflines!

Enter Extreme Green Waterless Wash. This stuff is amazing! Applies with a microfiber cloth, a light spray, a wipe and there you have it, a beautiful shine, no streaks! This can be used on chrome and glass as well. I used it on the chrome in the engine compartment as well. The best news is it’s made in the USA and is Green for the environment. As an avid car enthusiast, I recommend and stand by this product . So, get your hands on some Extreme Green Waterless Wash!

Quite the endorsement, huh?  Want to get your hands on some?  Go here to see this as well as other products that might interest you!

This product is associated with the Extreme Green Girls blog which is chock full of some really great information on green living.

Oh yeah...there is a giveaway with this review too!   If you want to win a can of Xtreme Green Waterless Wash and a great soft cloth to go with it, here's what you have to do:

(1) You MUST be a Google Friend Connect follower of my blog ( this will be verified)

AND

(2) You MUST tell me a water conservation fact from this page.

That's it! Too easy!!

BOTH (1) and (2) MUST be done for your initial entry! Leave me ONE comment stating that both items were completed. If you already follow me just let me know.

If you want additional entries:

KT Turnstall: Tiger Suit: A Review

Yes, she has done it again!  You probably know KT Turnstall from some of her Grammy winning hits like "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," "Suddenly I See," Other Side of the World" or "Hold On".

Well, KT is back with a new CD called, " Tiger Suit".  "Organic instrumentation is blended with dance-friendly textures, the results of which she has dubbed “Nature Techno” to encapsulate the album’s collision of raw, upfront rootsiness and sleek electronic textures. "

I found this CD to be a great mix of sound and lyrics and I loved the overall feel and sound.  If you have not fallen in love with KT already, you will after checking out her new release!

The album's rollicking first single, “Fade Like A Shadow" is available at digital retailers now and is already at Top 20 hit at radio. Check out the video here:

You can listen to a preview of the CD here.

Check her out on Facebook and Twitter!

And she is touring this fall throughout the US and the UK.  Here is a list of tour dates.

Take a moment to check her out and let me know what you think!

Disclosure: I was provided with a CD free of charge and am entered into a contest to win a gift card by posting this review.  However all opinions are my own.

Villa La Estancia Nuevo Vallarta: A Guest Post And Review!

You may have come across the banner I have on my sidebar advertising this great resort!  I hope you have taken the time to click on it and check it out!  If you didn't before this post, perhaps a fellow blogger's experience might convince you?  Read on to see what Marcie had to say about her recent stay!  And stay tuned as I am also in the process of going there myself and bringing you my own take on Villa La Estancia Nuevo Vallarta!

A Mexican Getaway by Marcie Pickelsimer

Marcie Pickelsimer, founder of Grown in My Heart and a member of the Villa Group travel affiliate network, got the chance to visit Nuevo Vallarta and shares priceless vacation memories and tips.

PV Mexico 2010 226.jpg
I'm beginning to think that living in Mexico might not be so bad as long as I can live at the Del Palmar Flamingos and had my food delivered to me poolside everyday. I don't think Jenny Craig would go for it though and with all the money I've been paying her lately it would be such a waste, wouldn't it? Oh, but I could dream.

The entire family returned home last Saturday from Mexico, sun drenched and beer logged (at least the adults, that is). After literally living in paradise for seven days the leaves on the ground were not a welcome sight.

But I digress...Since this is a review I'll make it easy and outline a few things.

The Food:

While the resort only sports two restaurants and two bars (open at different times), the food is fabulous. The Bellavista Restaurant offers a causal breakfast buffet or menu dining, à la carte lunches, and buffet or à la carte dinners with themes such as lobster, Mexican, Argentinian grilled meats, and pasta. The open air Cafe is both pool and beachside and serves pizza, burgers, sandwiches, Mexican items, and tropical drinks (and beer and liquor) from late morning to early evening. The Cafe turns into an Italian restaurant, La Trattoria, at 6 pm for beachfront dining. They serve fabulous pizza, onion rings, quesadillas, and fruit plates. They also have the most incredible gelato.

During the day, servers cater to quests every whim: one only has to raise an empty glass or lift an eyebrow to signal their attention. Servers are hospitable, kind, gracious, and very child friendly. Although the all-inclusive information states no tipping the servers do expect tips and because the minimum wage in Mexico is so low we actually didn't mind. It is the way they make their living.

The all-inclusive package:

My family chose the all-inclusive package because we took two young children and knew they would want to snack during the day. This was actually a great deal for us and in my opinion the only way to go if you eat more than one meal and drink more than two drinks at the resort per day. The daily cost for the all inclusive is $70 for an adult and $35 for a child under 12. When you add up food prices and drink prices it makes complete sense. Additionally, the all-inclusive package includes all of your non-motorized water sports, kids club, and the fitness center.

Children's activities:

DSC_0702.JPG
I have two boys that LOVE the water but they can only get so much of the beach and the pool. SO, it was a great option for us that the Flamingos had a Kid-Certified Staff. Everyday there were age-specific activities for our seven year old (two was too young). He could make bracelets, paint ceramic animals, play bubbles, join movie time, or even join in some good Pirate fun. During Prime Vacation season they also have Kids Nights that include dinner, arcades, discos and movies. My boys were exhausted by 5 pm because ALL they wanted to do was surf the waves or play in the pool waterfalls.

The resort also offers babysitting services which we used once. The service is $15 an hour and if you use it after 10 pm you will also need to pay $15 for a taxi. Pretty reasonable. The babysitter we used was the concierge from the hotel next door (also part of the Villas) who had a child the same age as our oldest.

The BEST activity of the week was the Sea Lions. Every Tuesday the resort brings in a Sea Lion named Maggie for all of the hotel guests (and neighboring hotel guests) to see. (It's part of a tour promotion) Maggie was absolutely gorgeous and super sweet. She smiled, gave kisses to Gus, and was a blast to see.

Adult Activities:

My husband loved the adult activities, as he was able to play some vigorous beach volleyball, pool volleyball, and water polo.

The resort also has theme dinners on Sunday nights. It's a little over the top but they have interesting Mexican entertainment, good food, great drinks, and entertainment for the kids.

Additional Activities:

Because my family was at the resort to review the property the General Manager offered us some fabulous extras so that we could see all the resort had to offer. I would not generally pay for these activities because, well, we can't really afford these extravagances on just my husband's salary. However, I do HIGHLY recommend that if you get the chance to try one or two of these please, do. They were absolutely fabulous.

Spa treatment;

My husband and I were offered the Honeymoon spa treatment at the Tatewari Spa that would include a European Seaweed Facial, Therapeutic Hot Towel Massage, Tropical Exfoliation, a bottle of champagne and Hors d'oeuvres. It is valued at $225. However, my husband is not really into spas. So, I offered to take my mother who was along for the trip with us. We were able to choose whatever treatment we wanted and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The spa is absolutely beautiful, a little pricey (but they are always offering deals), and the treatments are incredible. We both chose the mud massage and a facial and I honestly LOVED it, as I had never had either.

Dinner at La Casona;

Um, Heaven? We hired a babysitter for this evening because we wanted to be able to have at least one dinner without a child on our lap or food flung at us. It was well worth it. Chef Eugenio knows his way around organic foods, raw foods, gourmet delights, and even fabulous desserts. The menu includes specials like Kobe beef and his own specialty, Creme Brulee. Dining at La Casona is not included in the all-inclusive.

En Villa Dining with Chef Eugenio

The Villa La Estancia directly next door to Flamingos is an ownership community that is absolutely divine. We were invited to tour THE Penthouse and enjoy dinner created by Chef Eugenio and his staff. I can't explain how special this was to my family. We were able to enjoy the sunset from the top of the resort, sip a cocktail, and dine with one of Mexico's premier chef's.

Cooking Lessons with Chef Eugenio

DSC_0832.JPG

The last day of our trip Eric and I had the unique opportunity to have an afternoon cooking lesson with chef Eugenio. Yes, me...the one who does not cook. I actually learned to cut vegetables the correct way, learned a fabulous secret to REALLY good guacamole, and I now have an incredible recipe for Tortilla Soup (that I can't wait to try!).

The afternoon included a Personalized Chef Jacket, lunch and wine, a recipe book, diplomas, and the lesson. The afternoon is valued at $200 per couple.

You can take a tour of the entire facility online at the Villa Del Palmar Flamingos.

*As a member of the Villa Group Travel Affiliate Network, The Villa Group Resorts gave my family the spa treatment, several dinners, the cooking class, and a portion of our stay in return for this review.

Purple Trail: Helping To Make Your Holiday Greetings Special!

In my family, the holidays are all about being uniquely ourselves in any way we can!  And that often starts with the cards we choose each year to send to friends and family.  Rather then feature stiff poses from commercial sittings, we instead try to convey the image of our family for that year in our own quirky way!

Having been introduced to the Purple Trail website, I can really see that this year my card selection and design will be a whole lot easier!  They have some of the coolest designs I have seen for personalized holiday cards!  And you really have to love the name of the company, don't you?

One of the ways to really make your cards special is to use photos. Photos are the best way to portray your family and make a very good reason to keep and display cards from year to year!

I love how this design incorporates the photo into the card without distracting from the overall design.  Photo cards are not only for Christmas when you work with the Purple Trail website!

Of course you could always make the photos the focus of the card itself.  Isn't this card just so clever in the way it makes the photos the central theme?  It is cute enough to frame!

Another creative way to use photos in a card is to have the faces of your family transported into a wonderful wintry scene like this card does!  It incorporates a little bit of whimsy and makes the card seem fun and exciting!

Sometimes it is nice to be able to use a montage of photos like this card does.  I love the look of the black and white and the fact that it doesn't scream snowflakes and icicles!  This one is fridge worthy and can be displayed even after the holiday season.  It also can be used for a multitude of religions and beliefs.

Finally for a holiday card that feels nothing like a holiday card check out this one.  I love that the background can be any season and that it gives you a feeling of warmth and love!

Purple Trail also has a really unique feature where you can personalize every aspect of your card.  Check it out here.  You can personalize everything from the background to the photo to the design elements!  Go ahead and play around a little and see what you can do!

Disclosure: I am  participating in a giveaway for PurpleTrail.com and it makes me eligible for a PurpleTrail gift code. Pleas see http://www.purpletrail.com/blogcontests for more information about this contest!

Something For Him: The Silicone Sling From Eden Fantasys

Those that read this blog know that I work with Eden Fantasys on reviewing adult toys.  Up until now, those toys were chosen for my benefit.  So when I had the chance to request something to review, I decided it was about time that my boyfriend had some toys too!

Hence the Silicon sling you see pictured!  Can you say, " Wow!".  Here is a good description of this item from the website:

Made out of the highest grade of silicone, this seamless ring is guaranteed to be hypoallergenic, causing less irritations and reactions than your average sex toy materials, and super hygienic. The surface of silicone has no pores so there’s no where to trap and hold bacteria and to clean it you can either boil it, pop it in the dishwasher, or just wash it with a mild soap and water.

The unique design of this Sling makes it a marvelous toy for guy. It has a contoured tongue on it which, when you wear it pointed towards the back, will massage your perineum (the soft area between your scrotum and anus), thusly stimulating multiple erogenous zones at one time.

You can also wear it with the "tongue" pointed forwards. Wearing the sling this way cups your testicles and creates a fantastic sensation while you’re masturbating.

The sling is very soft and pliable, so you can rest assured that it is extremely comfortable to wear. It is also extremely stretchy so it is easier to put on and take off.

I have to say this was fun for BOTH of us!  It made our time together playful and fun, and I loved that I could really put my focus on him and his pleasure.  Too often we forget that our partner may also like to experiment with something different and interesting, and this sling is a non-invasive, non-threatening way to experiment with different kinds of pleasurable sensations for him.

As you can see in the picture, it is very pliable and easy to slide on and off.  The material makes it so easy to keep clean!  Both black and red are available

Sex should always be fun..and this sling helps to make it fun for both of you!

PartyLite: Why Go Anywhere Else For Candles, Candle Accessories, and Home Fragrance Needs! A Review, A Special Sweepstakes Code For You, And A Giveaway!

Have you heard of PartyLite?  If not, are you in for a fragrant surprise!

PartyLite is the largest direct seller of candles, candle accessories and home fragrance products. They also have luxurious spa products and a fabulous gourmet food line called Two Sisters Gourmet.

Let me tell you about some of the unique items they offer:

The Scent 4U Fan  releases instant and long-lasting fragrance into the air. Comes with four fragrance discs (Bamboo Mist, Iced Snowberries, Spruce in the Snow, Mulberry, Essence of Lavender, French Vanilla, Iced Snowberries, Strawberry Rhubarb) that you can mix and match to create your own signature scent. Runs on four AA batteries.

I love this little item!  I put it in my restroom and it works effortlessly!  The whole rooms smells inviting and good.  I have had this in continuous use over the past month and have had to change neither the scent disc nor the battery so it really is very cost effective.

Pillars add style and dimension to any room...whether it’s formal or casual. The classic round pillars come in three sizes and burn from 60-95 hours, depending on size.

I got to try the Spiced Cider scent and it really invokes the feeling of heading into the fall season.  They are elegant, sturdy and burn evenly and beautifully!

New Apothecary Collection brings old-fashioned corner store charm to your home! These strikingly beautiful rustic metal containers are made to hold candles, but look fabulous with seasonal decorations or as food serving pieces on a buffet table.

I adore this collection!  I put the pillar candle in it as the center picture shows and it looks elegant and classy.  It is unique and really very versatile.  It is the type of item that you can really build a whole collection around and I look forward to changing its contents with the seasons.

Savvy Sampler Gift SetWho needs grilling season?  The sweet savory sauces are perfect all year round!  The set includes Sisters Southern Sweet Barbeque Sauce, Vermont Maple Dijon Grilling Sauce and Island Ponzu Sauce.  The gift set also includes some great new recipes.

These really taste amazing!  Party Lite is correct in that they are not only for grilling - I have used each of these sauces on various chicken dishes and the consensus was all around they they were all winners!  They are well packaged and make a great gift for the holidays.  The Two Sisters Gourmet line includes lots of other things like bake mixes and toppings that I am dying to try!

The Melting Pot of Westwood, New Jersey - An Amazing Dining Experience; Review and Giveaway!

Did you ever go to a restaurant and have a meal that was more then a meal?  Did you ever have a true dining experience?  That is what you will find at the Melting Pot in Westwood, New Jersey.

The setting itself is perfect.  Classy, subdued, elegant, and comfortable.  You notice the details as you walk in the front door.  You know that this is not the place to eat on the run.  Instead you know that this is the place to slowly take it all in.

It really is a great place for fondue and so much more. I recently had the opportunity to try their new Fall French Menu.  Ooo-La-La!

Our fantastic waiter, Abilio, helped us to get started.  He explained the new menu and how to choose from what was offered.

I started my meal with a Creme Brulee Martini, which consisted of Stoli Vanilla Vodka, cointreau, Monin Creme Caramel and ice cream.  It really set the tone for the meal to come.

My mom, Judy ( everyone wave Hi!) decided on the Wine Sampler.  She really loved the whole idea of this set of drinks.  It consisted of three different wines, each placed on a placard that described the attributes and blends!  A a wine lover, Mom appreciated the cue card:)

Our first course was  "Fondue a la France" a rich, smooth combination of baby Brie, Fontina, Gruyere and Raclette cheese served with Nueske's bacon, onions, white-truffle cream and fresh chives.  It is served with apples, celery and carrots, and bread for dipping.

Wow!  It was smooth, flavorful and had just the right amount of "bite".  It was a great way to ease into the art of eating fondue and it was fun to see how the different dipping items tasted when dunked in the cheese.

Next course was the "Salad Nicose", which combines haricot verts, tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, and Nicose olives with a tangy shallot Vinaigrette.

Beyond the beauty of the presentation, it was fresh, flavorful and provided a real glimpse into some of the flavors and taste of France!

We also had the chance to sample the Ceasar salad as well, which The Melting Pot is known for.

This is served with coated pine nuts which gave an already amazing salad and extra-ordinary kick!

Are you getting that this is not your ordinary "eat and run" dinner yet?

Our main course was the Fondue Fusion.  It includes Cold Water Lobster, Filet Mignon, Peppercorn Crusted NY Strip, Chicken Provencal, Roasted Garlic Shrimp, Maple Leaf Farms Duck a l'Orange, Ratatouille and Goat Cheese Ravioli, and Fresh Vegetables like potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower.  From a choice of four different cooking styles ( sauces) we chose the Coq au Vin, which has fresh herbs, mushrooms, garlic spices, and Burgundy wine.

Your main course is also served with a bunch of different dipping sauces specific to each main entree.  The presentation is a work of art, isn't it?  Our waiter, Abilio, patiently explained which sauce was for which entree and my mom and I quickly figured out which were our own personal favorites.

We both enjoyed the journey of discovery that The Melting Pot took us on with each of these very different foods.  The process of cooking our foods in the fondue pot fostered conversation and a feeling of teamwork that translated into our dining experience.  Our meal was now not only delicious, it was fun and interesting as well.

Mom is really having a blast!

Dessert was also amazing!  A White Chocolate Creme Brulee fondue with white chocolate and caramelized sugar was the perfect ending to put perfect dinner!

A selection of fresh strawberries, brownies, cakes, and bananas allowed us to walk out of The Melting Pot completely satisfied.  The Ying/Yang cocktail, a signature drink, combines Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Godiva White Liqueur in an ice cream base and looked almost too good to even drink!

There are so many things to tell you about this restaurant: The Rewards Club where you can earn Gift Certificates for every dollar spent, the catering menu and private room for large parties, the plethora of special events that seem never ending and cater to every type of interest, the amazing staff...I could go on and on and on.

I will highlight one particular aspect of the Westwood Melting Pot that we particularly enjoyed,,,

Mike Kirschner, who is a great magician, that performs for free tableisde at the Westwood location.
He enthralled us with tricks in between courses and made an enjoyable evening even better!  He can be found there every Friday and I encourage you to say hello and wave him over.  He has been a lover of magic since his father first took him to a magic store in NYC, and does corporate entertainment, team building, and private parties.

It is the staff at the Melting Pot that give this restaurant that familiar and comfortable feeling.  From Abilio our waiter who answered every question with patience and understanding, to Lilia our bus girl who made sure each course was cleared quickly and effortlessly, to Ilya, the assistant manager who came by to say hello, one leaves The Melting Pot already planning their next visit.  Ilya said it best," The Melting Pot is the perfect place to have a drink, grab a bite, and relax!".

Ilya, I couldn't agree more.

For those in the tri-state area, this group of Melting Pot Restaurants, which consist of the Westwood, New jersey, White Plains( Westchester County) New York, and Darien, Connecticut locations ONLY they are offering (4) winners the chance to each win a $25 gift certificate, valid until October 31st, 2010.
